The Creature from the Black Lagoon was a 1954 Universal Film. It is considered part of the universal monster series along with Drac, The Frankenstein Monster, Wolf Man, Mummy, and Invisible Man. I always found that odd as he appeared later then the original lot.
I think it is a great drive-in flick and a nice way to get Spring time rolling.
Richard Carlson and Julie Adams star in this Jack Arnold directed feature. They head off to the Amazon and soon plagued by the creature who I think wants Julie Adams to be his mate!
It was originally filmed and released in 3D and I have noticed that is starting to wake a comeback.
It must have done well and 2 sequels were commissioned after the fact. Here's the trailer...
